Acid Etched Glass

Acid etched glass also called frosted glass, finger free glass, Opaque glass, etchlite glass, obscured glass, satin glass, matelux glass. Likeway Acid etched glass is treated with hydrofluoric acid to give the surface a satin frosted look. The result is a translucent glass with a smooth and homogeneous surface. It is available etched on one face or double face of clear glass, low iron glass, extra clear glass, tinted glass and silver mirror.

Etching refers to the process that alters the appearance of the glass, while frosting refers to the fact the etched portion has a frosted appearance. Etching involves changing the surface of glass with an abrasive material or substance. Etching creates a design by abrading sections of glass.

There is also upgrade product acid etched oil sand glass which is more

easy to clean than common acid etched glass.

The Etchlite surface treatment results in light filtering properties that soften, contour and produce enthralling silhouettes in a wide range of interior and exterior glazing applications.

Generally glass is etched on one surface only though it is possible to get product etched on both surface, Etch will no fade, deteriorate or come off in regular use. Contact with sharp objects such as razor blades or glass chips may damage or scratch the etched surface, soft gloves and a clear work environment are recommended when handing this product.

Glass must be stored in a dry environment. Trapped moisture can permanently stain the glass. When cutting the glass, it is best to score it on the non etched surface.

Donot let cerium oxide or cutting oil residues dry on the glass or sit one the glass for extended periods such as overnight. This will cause staining. We recommend washing any such materials off as soon as possible.

Clear with warm ware and if necessary soap and always dry glass immediately.
