Anti Glare Acid Etched Glass

Acid etched anti-glare (AG) glass, also named non-glare glass or anti glare etched glass, is treated by acid on single or both surfaces with comparatively low reflectance rate.

The etching process is very precise and leaves the glass with an incredibly consistent etched finish across the entire surface. This etched surface disperses light as it hits the surface of the glass, virtually eliminating glare.

Likeway Anti-glare coatings tend to use small etchings on the glass surface to achieve the desired visibility outcome. It is generally used for outdoor displays or for indoor areas that have bright, intense lights whenever a loss in image quality isn't much of an issue; however, it is not recommended to be used in dimly lit areas since the blurriness/graininess of the coating will be much more obvious.

Non-Glare is measured in gloss units and is available in numerous gloss (etching) levels. The gloss levels range from 50 to 130. The challenge with finding the right gloss level is balancing the amount of glare reduction (diffusion) with the resolution of the display behind the glass. The environment of the application, ambient light, thickness of the glass and brightness of the underlying display all play a part in the performance of the Non Glare Glass.
