Recently, LIKEWAY GLASS brought its newest team members to our modern float glass production facility in Zibo, Shandong, China, for a full-day practical training session. The focus was on the complete raw float glass production process and our advanced automated quality control systems.
This visit helps new colleagues quickly understand how we produce high-quality raw glass - the essential starting material for tempered, laminated, low-iron ultra-clear, and other processed glass products used in buildings, panoramic padel courts, and more.
Key highlights of the production line:
- Hot end (melting furnace): High-purity raw materials are melted at ~1500–1600°C to create uniform, clear molten glass - the foundation of consistent quality.
- Forming & annealing: Molten glass floats on tin to form a perfectly flat sheet, then slowly cools in the annealing lehr to remove stress and prevent future cracking.
- Cold end (inspection & sorting): State-of-the-art optical systems (laser scanning + high-resolution cameras) detect defects in real time at micron level. Defective sheets are automatically sorted out, ensuring only top-quality glass reaches customers.
Through this direct experience, new team members saw firsthand why LIKEWAY maintains extremely stable quality and low defect rates across large production volumes. This reliability allows us to supply consistent, high-grade float glass to glass processors, tempering plants, laminators, and distributors worldwide - batch after batch.
